People’s Park for Nature is seeking 5 artists to create engaging, low-cost installations that spark curiosity, wonder, and care for the natural world across the Lower Ouse Valley.
The Brief
Design a simple, sensory nature-connection installation. This might include:
Artistic features
Interpretive signs
Interactive activity prompts
Your installation should be:
Low-cost and replicable
Easy for others to adapt
Designed to engage the senses, imagination, and emotions
Example ideas:
“Look Closely” insect-viewing points
“What if this tree could speak?” storytelling signs
“Rewild your senses” activity prompts
What You’ll Receive
£800 total fee, covering:
Artist fee
Materials
Travel
All associated costs
What You’ll Do
Over Summer 2026, you will:
1.Co-create with a local community group
We’ll match you with a group and secure landowner permission.
You can either:
Meet the group, then create the installation independently, or
Create it collaboratively and install together later.
2.Install the work on site
3.Write a simple “How to…” guide
This will form part of an open-source toolkit so others can recreate or adapt your idea.

How to Apply
Please submit a short proposal (no lengthy application required) outlining:
What you would like to create
How you would involve a local community group
How your installation would encourage more people to connect with nature
