Our Rewilding Visitor Centre - Open for One Memorable Day Only in Newhaven in March 2026
To mark World Rewilding Day, People’s Park for Nature unveiled ENGLAND’S FIRST Rewilding Visitor Centre —celebrating a wilder Lower Ouse Valley, from land to sea.
What if the Lower Ouse Valley was truly wild again?
Imagine beaver dams slowing floodwaters to protect homes. Sea eagles soaring overhead, signalling seas rich with fish. Vast kelp forests returning offshore, sheltering marine life and even welcoming humpback whales back to our coast — watched from the cliffs at Newhaven.
It may sound like a dream. But if it’s the future we want, we can build it together.
To celebrate World Rewilding Day, People’s Park for Nature in partnership with Sussex Dolphin Project and Greenhavens Network, unveiled England’s first Rewilding Visitor Centre at
the Atrium, Ground Floor, Marine Workshops, Newhaven, BN9 0ER onThursday 19 March 2026.
It was an inspiring, family-friendly evening. Meeting local experts, exploring immersive rewilding experiences, and helping co-design a Visitor Centre for nature and community alike.
