Peregrines, Pints and a Wilder Future: People's Park for Nature Partners with Beak Brewery
Supported by National Lottery funding, we're working with local businesses to create new ways of supporting nature recovery across the Lower Ouse Valley. The idea is simple: when nature thrives, communities and businesses thrive too.
With that in mind, we're over the moon to announce the first public collaboration from this initiative: a partnership with Lewes-based Beak Brewery that brings together wildlife, storytelling, local landscapes and exceptional beer.
Beginning this summer, visitors can join us for Nature on Tap – a unique South Downs experience combining wildlife discovery with a guided brewery tasting.
The experience begins beneath the spectacular inland chalk cliffs that tower above Lewes, home to birds of prey and rich local history.
Guided by People's Park for Nature, participants will discover the wildlife, landscapes and stories that have shaped this remarkable place while keeping watch for buzzards, kites, kestrels, and peregrine falcons soaring overhead.
The adventure then continues at Beak Brewery, where guests can enjoy either a sample drink or a full guided beer tasting session featuring Beak's award-winning craft beers.
It's an opportunity to experience the landscape in a completely new way – connecting the flavours of place with the wildlife and natural systems that make the Lower Ouse Valley so special.
Building a Nature-Positive Economy
Nature on Tap is just the beginning.
Over the coming months, People's Park for Nature will be working with local businesses and organisations to develop a range of initiatives including nature-based visitor experiences, customer micro-donations for habitat restoration, business partnerships supporting biodiversity, and a growing network of enterprises committed to helping nature thrive.
By embedding nature recovery into everyday economic activity, we hope to create long-term funding for local restoration projects while strengthening connections between people, place and nature.
We're excited to see this first collaboration take flight and look forward to sharing more Nature-Positive Economy partnerships soon.
Nature on Tap launches on Saturday afternoons from July - September. Book here.
